This is kind of what the Admin panel looked like.
Well, this one is at any rate. It’s been so long since I updated this thing that I had to bring out the weed whacker and the duster just to find the Admin control panel. My apologies for not posting regularly. I fully intended to…and then college started and I got wrapped up in papers, Quiz Bowl, homework, debate, and all that sort of thing. But I’m back now, and I hope to resume posting at least once a week. I’m clearing some things up in how the blog runs and will be posting really awesome and stunning pieces of writing (well…not really. But I hope it will be at least readable). We’ll see how that goes. Hopefully it’ll be better than it was the last time. Stay tuned for more!
For those of you who don’t know, I am obsessed with Doctor Who. I LOVE it. Tom Baker is my favorite, but I also love David Tennant. When David’s Doctor regenerated, I was sure Doctor Who would never be as brilliant. I was sure I would never ever like Matt Smith (he has no eyebrows!!!!). So last night I began to watch the new series. How did it measure up? Let’s see:
Well, I take back everything I ever said about Matt Smith. He’s absolutely BRILLIANT. Not as awesome as David or Tom, but I loved him. He is amazing as the Doctor. 3rd favorite? I think so 😀 Amy Pond was great as well. I think she’s awesome, and I like her better than Martha and Rose put together (well, considering how much I hate Rose, that’s not saying much). But I do think she’s doing an excellent job.
Now for the episodes: The Eleventh Hour was AWESOME. I loved it. It was a fantastic beginning episode for a new Doctor. Well done, Steve. The Beast Below was ok. Not the best….too much like Star Trek (Encounter at Farpoint) and Star Wars mixed together. But there was some good stuff in it, so it wasn’t too bad. Victory of the Daleks on the other hand…was bleh. Terrible. The whole plot was full of holes you could drive a limo through, the new Daleks are stupid looking and not at all menacing. They didn’t do a good job of portraying Winston, either, and the story was so lame and boring that I was literally yawning through the whole thing.
So here’s the overview: The new Doctor is totally amazing. I love him. Amy is brilliant as well. Steve’s given us one smashingly awesome story, one so-so, and one terrible flop. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
Life is a strange thing. People are always asking what’s the meaning of it and what’s the purpose of it. Well, as everyone should know by now, the meaning of life is 42. If you didn’t know that before, you do now. Go read Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (written by the amazing Douglas Adas) if you want more information on the subject. As to the purpose of life….well, there isn’t really a universal answer to that. It means something different to each person. Everyone has a different purpose. Some people don’t even know what it is for them yet. Do you?
So, here I am. Entering the mysterious, wonderful, weird world of blogging. I have no idea what I’ll be posting later on…it depends on what life sends my way. So this is just a beginning post…there’s more coming later. For now, sit back and wonder. Oh, and by the way: You just lost the Game. You’re welcome.
